Swedish Bingo Association receives warning from regulator

The Swedish Bingo Association has received a reprimand from the country’s regulator for breaching its responsible gambling rules

The Swedish Bingo Association has received a censure from the country’s regulator for breaching its responsible for(p) play rules.

According to Spelinspektionen, the Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA), logos for self-testing, wager limitation and finding of login time, as swell as dangling from games, were all missing from the organisation’s idrottensbingo.se website when logged out.

While players could view responsible gambling messaging and prompts when logged in, these were otherwise absent from the site’s nursing home page, which led the regulator to set in motion a review.

“What emerged from the brushup of the licensee’s website, and in accordance of rights with the licensee’s opinion, was that it only if had the logos placed at the top side of the licensee’s website inwards logged-in mode,” stated the SGA.

“Because the logos must also be visible on the home page before a participant has logged inwards to their gaming account, that is to say, even out in logged-out mode, their absence seizure is a shortcoming inwards recounting to what is prescribed in LIFS 2018: 2.”

However, since the logos were stock-still visible when logged in, the regulator concluded that the Swedish Bingo Association’s violation was not wilful.

It also said that, piece processing the case, the operator made corrections inward the relevant areas, which at long last led the SGA to resolve that its breach was “not to live regarded as serious, but neither as pocket-size nor excusable.”

As a result, a comment was deemed tolerable inwards response, with the regulator stating: “Against this background, a comment is a sufficient intervention.”

This tidings comes after the SGA proclaimed that it had “no objections” to a government activity proposal which would impose temporary restrictions for online gambling.
